Starry Night at Brasada Ranch – Wedding Photography Bend

It was the end of the night at Stephanie & Jason’s wedding at Brasada Ranch. We were done shooting and I was relaxing and looking at the stars, which are amazing out there in the middle of nowhere! I was thinking about exposures to capture the stars without the graininess that night photography can produce. I did some experimental shots, then grabbed the bride and groom one last time for this shot over the valley at Brasada.

Laura & Kevin’s Preparations – Garden Vineyards Wedding Photography

Here are a few of Laura & Kevin’s preparation shots from their Garden Vineyards wedding! More of their wedding day to follow soon…

Jacqui & Dan’s Haystack Garden & Surfsand, Cannon Beach Wedding Sneak Peek!

We shot Jacqui & Dan’s fabulous wedding on Saturday! Here is a quick sneak peak of a couple of their images. Full details and more photos to follow soon!

Sneak Peek from Rachelle & Todd’s Wedding

Here is the first one from Rachelle & Todd’s wedding, which we shot at Rachelle’s mom’s house in Camas. The guys had smoke bombs, and I thought it would be cool to use headlights to backlight the smoke. We used off camera flash to light the guys, and Justin made passes with the smoke bomb to create the effect.

Chris & Gina’s Wedding – Aerie at Eagle Landing

We shot Chris and Gina’s wedding at the Aerie on June 30th. It was a gorgeous day and Gina looked amazing in both of her wedding gowns. She started in a beautiful sequined topped gown with a full tulle skirt, and changed into a slinky strapless gown for the reception. Anthony with A Sound Choice kept the party rockin’, Serious Cake created their beautiful and tasty cake, and A Floral Affair did the amazing arrangements and bouquets.

Here is their wedding montage. Enjoy!

Client Galleries Temporarily Down

Our client galleries are temporarily down due to an unfortunate incident this morning! Justin was rearranging some files on our server and accidentally deleted our entire shopping cart and client gallery system. We are going to have to completely rebuild it, but it should be up and running again next week. We are really sorry about that (Justin is super sorry as he will be the one to rebuild it!) and we will have it up again just as soon as we can. Have a lovely, sunny weekend!

Welcome to our New Website!

We are SO excited to introduce our new website and logo! We have made a (we think!) wonderful change to our logo and look. Our brand has been evolving over the past few years and we wanted an updated look to reflect that.

“How would you describe your style?” is a question we get asked occasionally, and after consulting with our friends and fans on how they saw our work, as well as what we believe our look to be, we came up with our new tag line Love, Beauty, Glamour. Those three words seem to sum up so much of what we do.

Love is really the first and foremost thing that we try and portray in our work. Not only the love shared between each couple, but the love shared with parents, family and friends. Weddings are really celebrations of all kinds of relationships, and we try to capture that in our images.

Beauty is a big word, with lots of meaning. We work to portray our couples in the most flattering way, and use post processing to enhance the images afterwards because we want each couple to feel their wedding photos are the most gorgeous ones they have ever had taken. Beauty also extends to making the venue look amazing, and just capturing the beauty and mood of the day.

Glamour for us is that little extra bling we like to add! Our use of off camera lighting, whether strobe or video light, has been refined over the past few years and we have really tried to incorporate a fashion feel into our images. That extends beyond the couple too, to the details of the day. We get the comment “that looks like it belongs in a magazine!” a lot, and that is exactly what we want to give to our clients. We want them to feel like superstars!

We welcome any feedback you have on the new site, the new look, and anything else you would like to share!

Ashley & Greg, Barcelo Maya Palace Wedding Photography, Riviera Maya Mexico

We shot Ashley and Greg’s fabulous wedding at Barcelo Maya Palace in the Riviera Maya Mexico on April 15th. They had us for an all day coverage, so we were there for prep all the way through the reception. The ceremony was on Coral Beach and the reception in the Palmeras Grill. The day was sunny, breezy, and just perfect for a beach wedding! The grill stayed nice and cool in the evening too for the reception as the breeze blows right off the ocean. Ashely looked gorgeous, and Greg was looking pretty good too.;)The lighting couldn’t have been more perfect, especially for the photos of the two of them together after the ceremony. I love the one on the beach loungers, just needed the Coronas to complete the commercial! We also shot their Sunrise Trash the Dress shoot on the following Sunday, and those photos will follow in a few days.

Just a reminder, we will be back in the Riviera Maya in late October/November and we are offering some special discounts!

Susan & Jeff, Barcelo Maya Palace Wedding Photography, Riviera Maya Mexico

We had an amazing time shooting Susan and Jeff’s wedding at Barcelo Maya Palace in the Riviera Maya, Mexico! They had the best group of family and friends in attendance and it really made for a wonderful day. Susan and Jeff are so photogenic, so it was easy to get so many fabulous photos of them. The weather was perfect, with a nice breeze blowing for the ceremony on Coral Beach. We shot pictures of the couple almost until sunset, then went inside to one of the banquet rooms for their reception. The meal and service was great as always, and afterwards we finished up with a few night shots around the property. All together, a perfect wedding day!

We will be heading back to the Riviera Maya in late October/November, and will be offering special travel discounts and packages to couples getting married at that time!

Wedding Photographer of the Year 2011 and A.F.P. Degree, Professional Photographers of Oregon

In my excitement about blogging our album wins, I completely forgot to mention that I was awarded my A.F.P. degree last week from the Professional Photographers of Oregon! The degree is awarded for accruing a certain number of merits in print competition and service. I have been working for the past three years towards the degree. With the Kodak Gallery Award (which we won this year for Amie & Joe’s album below) comes a pin that can be attached to the ribbon, and I have been saving my other pins for this very occasion.:)

I am also extremely proud to have been named Wedding Photographer of  the Year again this year. This was based on highest combined score in the wedding division. Our albums were awarded a 96 for Amie and Joe, an 89 for Emma & Nicholas (will be posting their album soon, it is our new Slimline one seen below!), and an 87 for Kathy & AJ’s.
